We tend to use the phrase "your crisis is not my crisis" in a stern and
almost dismissive manner as our opening response before we consider
exeptions to our deadline when someone comes in really late and we
know they have had plenty of time and opportunity to get it done and/or
get our help in getting it done.  It focuses their attention very quickly
when they realize it might not go out and has helped with a couple of
people the next time around.
