a quick web search revealed that FICE stands for "Federal Interagency
Committee on Education." There are several sites on the web where you
can search for your institution by FICE code or vice versa. Check out
http://delphi.cusys.edu/~pubs/payroll/manual1/apendxb.html, a page on
the University Management Systems of Colorado University. This page
gives a list of FICE codes by state. Ball State University is listed
with a FICE code of 001786.

There is also a link on the Illinois State University web site for
Administrative Computing
(http://www.is.ilstu.edu/DataWarehouse/Ficealph.htm) where you can look
up your institution's FICE code.
