I am interested in discussing how institutions handle the payment of subject
fees from federal grants.  I  have recently had an investigator approach me
about opening a checking account in his name to pay the subjects directly
from that checking account.   I am EXTREMELY uncomfortable with this idea as
I have seen subject fee payments handled in a variety of ways but always
through the institution.

Any guidance or comments will be greatly appreciated.
