Hello again,

First, thank you all for your responses to my requests for help.  I thought
that the RESADM-L could now (that the deadline is past) review our experiences
with Fastlane for the IGERTS.  Maybe some of you are pros with Fastlane, but
this was our first big push in using it.  We only had one or two other
Fastlane proposal submissions.  It would be helpful for us to learn of your
experiences, good and bad.

We had trouble with MacIntosh files.  The PI gave us files from MacIntosh in
Word format and then we converted with Adobe Acrobat to PDF files.  The
conversion was problematic.  We also had trouble with Word files with
formatting such as tables and figures.  It appeared that they converted just
fine through Adobe Acrobat Writer but then when we tried to transfer the PDF
file into Fastlane, we got a major crash.  We retyped one of the problemic
files and managed to upload the other one successfully by pulling the Word
file into WordPerfect and then into Acrobat.  Voodoo, right!?

We'd be grateful to hear of your successes and failures.

Also, would it be possible to adjust the resadm listserve so that messages are
turned around in a more timely manner?  It would certainly help in crunches
like the last few days.
