 DIVISION MANAGER

 DIVISION OF DEVELOPMENTAL & NEWBORN BIOLOGY

A Division Manager is needed for the Division of Developmental and Newborn
Biology, a newly established unit focused on the basic biology of diseases of
the newborn.  The manager will be a dynamic element of the operations of this
unit.  The duties include planning and financial management of the divisional
budget, management of the academic and research funding needs of the faculty,
administration of grants and other sponsored support, administrative leadership
of the Fellowship Training Program, supervision of personnel (secretarial and
other supportive staff) and representing the Division throughout the Hospital
and Harvard Medical School.

We are seeking an individual with a minimum of five years of
supervisory/management experience in an academic setting, experience in a
research environment with demonstrated capability in management and at least a
Bachelor's degree.  The candidate must be skilled in interpersonal relationships
and have a facilitative management style, strong organizational skills and
expertise in all areas of research management.  Excellent writing and verbal
communication skills are essential.
