I'm about to embark upon a search of the RESADM-L archives to see
what has been discussed, if anything, with regard to the mailing
services offered by sponsored programs offices--that is, whether
sponsored programs offices anywhere are responsible for mailing
faculty grant proposals.
I don't remember a discussion of this in the last couple of years
that I have been on the RESADM-L list, and if anyone remembers a
past discussion on the list and can point me in the right general
direction, I surely would appreciate it.
In the meantime, would you please help me bring the discussion up to
date (assuming there IS something in the archives) by answering the
following:
1. Does your office take responsibility for mailing faculty grant
proposals and getting them to the appropriate agency on time?
2. Is this an optional service or are you required to do this?
3. If you perform this function, what kind of lead time do you
require (How much time before the deadline do they have to get the
finished proposal to you)?
4. What volume of proposals does your office handle per year?
5. What is the size of your staff?
I appreciate any help you can give me, and I'll be happy to tabulate
the results and post them to the entire list.
