Hi everyone --

We are about to begin the strategic planning process for research at my
institution.  I appear to be the "lucky one" to lead this endeavor.  I'm
looking for advice -- recommendations, pitfalls, etc.  Any assistance would
be appreciated as would any materials that you could provide to me (my

First thing, who do you recommend be included in this planning process?
