Our institution has on occasion used a grant writer ... an individual who
had been a former employee in the research area, which was of course a
signficant advantage.  In fact, we have currently retained her to assist
with a proposal at the present time ... it's proven enormously helpful in
the coordination of players, assistance in consolidating a lot of
information, etc. which takes a lot of pressure away from the principal
investigator.
