Periodically we have faculty members that request information on the
availability and advisability of using grant writers.   Another such
request was made today by someone working in the clinical
effectiveness/outcomes research area.  I know the question has come
up on this list before but as I recall  there was a rather limited response.
The limited experience I have with grant writers is not very positive but I
do not want to give advice or render an opinion to our faculty or Director
based solely on this admittedly limited first-hand knowledge.  I would
greatly appreciate comments from those who have strong feelings one
way or the other on the subject.
