A word of caution about annual leave on 100% grant funded appointments.  We
do not allow our grant funded "research associates" to bring accrued annual
leave with them from another state agency.  We also instruct them to use it
within the year earned because there is usually no money left over at the
end of the grant to pay out accrued leave.  This can be a real expensive
situation for the institution if you are not clear with the employee that
you may not be able to pay accrued leave upon that person's termination.
