ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR, CONTRACTS AND GRANTS, Position #62142

The Office of Research, Contracts and Grants at Florida State University
(FSU) is seeking candidates for the position of Associate Director. FSU is
a public, fully accredited, coeducational institution of the State
University System of Florida. The main campus is located on 418 acres in
Tallahassee, and a smaller campus is in Panama City. Other FSU facilities
are located in Leon, Franklin, and Sarasota counties. The State University
System (SUS) operates under the supervision of the Florida Department of
Education, and is governed through the State Board of Regents. Total
research expenditures for fiscal year 1996 exceeded $100 million.

The Office of Contracts and Grants has 37 employees and is responsible for
all aspects of sponsored program administration including: funding
opportunities; proposal review and approval; contract/grant negotiation and
administration; subcontracting; billing and financial reporting; cash
management; and indirect cost proposal preparation and negotiation.

Minimum Qualifications: A Master's degree and fours years professional work
experience; or a Bachelor's degree and six years professional work
experience. This position will assist the Director in the management of the
office to include pre/post award activities.

Requirement: Knowledge of state/federal rules/regulations governing
contract/grant activity; demonstrated experience with financial systems
(computer applications/accounting system) at a major university or
equivalent organization.
