NSF Fastlane PI Database -Reply

Thanks so much for the info. Our institution is new to FastLane and I
was surprised to learn that the information I entered wasn't automatically
transmitted to the PI mainframe table. I know that it is mentioned
somewhere in the instructions, but it would be nice to have a little
reminder on the screen to remember to e-mail NSF when adding a new
user.

Most probably already know this, but it was a revelation to me so I
want to bring this to your attention. The act of adding a new user into
NSF's Fastlane User Table for your institution does not automatically
mean
that person is entered into NSF's PI mainframe table which will allow
them
to initiate and submit proposals. For PIs new to NSF, you still need to
email NSF Fastlane administration the following information about a NEW
USER which will be entered by NSF directly. This process will take some
time, so it is important to check well in advance of any planned proposal
submission to see whether the PI is authorized to initiate the proposal
electronically.
