Associate Director of Industrial Programs and Technology Transfer Auburn University Auburn University solicits applications and nominations for the Associate Director of Industrial Programs and Technology Transfer. Auburn University is a comprehensive Land-Grant university with a total organized research program of over $76 million in FY 94/95. The position reports to the Director of Industrial Programs and Technology Transfer and works with the Director and faculty on projects involving the commercialization of Auburn's intellectual property. Auburn is committed to aggressively enhancing its activity in technology transfer and is seeking an energetic and self-motivated candidate with novel ideas towards this end. Qualifications: A bachelor's degree in scientific/technical or business discipline, and five years experience directly related to product assessment, technical licensing, intellectual property protection, and/or marketing. An advanced degree in a scientific or related discipline may be substituted for the required experience. Strong interpersonal and written communication skills and the ability to work autonomously in high energy environment and manage a variety of ongoing projects are required. Salary: Competitive and commensurate with qualifications. Key Responsibilities: The responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Interacting with university investigators to encourage submission of technology disclosures; Evaluating commercial potential and patentability of inventions; Arranging for and managing patent filings as necessary; and Identifying potential licensees, marketing technology, negotiating license agreements with companies, administering existing agreements. Acts on behalf of the Director in the Director's absence. Review of candidates will begin on May 27, 1997, and will continue until the position is filled.
