STTR Applications Jane A. Youngers 31 Mar 1997 14:50 EST

The just now upon us deadline for STTR applications has prompted me to
rethink how we handle these proposals. Specifically, I am interested in
knowing whether any of you out there have specific internal requirements
regarding STTR applications. For example, do you allow your 100% faculty to
be PI's on the proposal submitted by the small business? Do you require
some kind of statement about the company's commitment to the technology,
where it was initially developed, and what your faculty member's
responsibilities will be particularly when they are the PI? Do you do
anything special when it is another faculty member's company that is the
potential grantee?

If you would be willing to share your policies with me, I'd be most
grateful. Please respond to me directly and I will summarize for the group.

Much thanks in advance and I send you greetings from South Texas where it is
my first spring here and the wild flowers are rich in color and blanketing
the area. Just ask me how much I miss March in upstate New York...
