I agree that this is a prelude to EDI implementation. I also read that
all institutions doing business, whether contract, grant, or what, will
have to register with DoD. Since they fund significant human genome
work, we as a hospital will be registering.

Along the same lines, at the NCURA ERA workshop in Atlanta last August
one of the speakers from NIH rather matter of factly in a presentation
stated that all entities doing business with the federal government
would have to register as such. I've heard nothing since then, but I
assumed at the time that such registration would be implemented for EDI.
Let's hope we don't have to register with each agency, but that there
will be one central point of registration. How about FEDIX?
