Thanks to everyone who has sent me information about their proposal
writing workshops. This is VERY useful stuff, and my copresenter
(Mike McCallister, aka Spanky) and I will see what kinds of
conculsions we can draw from the materials. (send more stuff to

Several folks have requested a copy of the materials I received.
We're talking with Erin Lindsay at UCLA about putting our materials
onto the ERA home page she maintains (check it out at
www.research.ucla.edu/era/), so watch for that later this spring.
But, no, I can't send copies of what people at other institutions
have sent to me since I do not have their explicit permission to
do so. Some of the info has also come from consultants who make their
living doing these workshops, and they'd not like it if we gave their
stuff away for free.
