Dear Hostage to your personnel office:

I was going to write something like the "grab a v.p." comment on this
one last week and then decided to go home instead.  Now that there is
another voice I have changed my mind.

My comment is: address the request directly to the President or
Chancellor of your campus.  Ask that person to issue an edict.  There is
no reason for you to put up with or be embarrassed by this further.
