I solved that problem by making my data base thesaurus directly available to
the faculty. I use SPIN (have used it for years) and simply give the faculty
member a copy of the standard search terms. That way I get their input
already in the proper format for the search engine. If you don't use a
commercial data base, you could make your own thesaurus, breaking it down by
category. I could send you the SPIN thesaurus to use the same way. I believe
FEDIX has a standard thesaurus that can be downloaded from their web page.
This will save you countless hours by eliminating the tedious and often risky
task of trying to interpret the project idea into key words.
