Boy is it nice to hear someone else say this!!!! I "try" to get a one-page
abstract of the proposed project from them which sometimes helps. This
is followed by leading questions to illicit something other than a yes/no
answer.
They are usually wiling to provide this information when they know a
vague search will produce large amounts of useless information.
Sometimes the individual/group needs to return to the think take to
continue refining the idea.

Colleagues:
As an INFP in the world of research administration, I could use
some help with this subject. I have trouble "distilling" faculty
ideas for proposals down to terms that I can use in searching for
appropriate funding sources. They don't do any of the searching..
I do it all. So, I listen, reframe, clarify, etc etc etc, and still
miss it sometimes. Does anyone have any suggestions here?
Thanks.
