We require after-the-fact certification on all employees
working on a grant: semester-end reports for faculty
members; monthly for all others.  It is my understanding
that time cards are not sufficient.  They show the hours
worked and perhaps what account is paying, but ours don't
have a place for the employee, supervisor, or other to
attest that all or part of that work was on a specific
grant.
