>Essential functions:  Coordinate proposal preparation with Principal
>Investigators (PIs) and departmental staff. Coordinate and conduct award
>negotiation.  Analyze awards for conformity to proposal budget, scope of
>work and University policies.  Develop, draft, and monitor contractual
>documents (including subcontracts) consistent with University policies and
>needs.  Implement administration of contracts and grants and coordinate
>non-accounting post-award activities.  Develop and maintain databases of
>gifts, C&G proposals and C&G awards.  Use spreadsheets and database
>technology to track and report activity for management evaluation.  Conduct
>formal and informal training with staff and Pis.  Assist in the development
>and instruction of training courses and materials related to research
>administration.  Draft and implement Division policies and procedures
>related to research administration.  Review and comment on Universitywide
>and sponsor policies.

 Skills, knowledge and abilities: Education and
experience equivalent to a Bachelor's degree and extensive relevant
>experience.  Detailed knowledge of university and federal policies and
>procedures related to research administration, and ability to interpret,
>explain and apply these policies as evidenced through significant
>experience.  Ability to develop and negotiate a wide variety of agreements.
>Detailed knowledge of database and software applications to develop/create
>databases.  Coordinate maintenance of databases and production of reports.
>Ability to make sound decisions; develop and negotiate creative solutions to
>complex problems.  Ability to rapidly and accurately analyze, in detail,
>complex contract documents, written procedures and correspondence.  Ability
>to maintain work flow with changing priorities and frequent interruptions.
