We are in the process of developing institutional policies regarding
proposal development and submission and would appreciate input from the list
on the following:

1) What is your institution's policy on principal investigator status (e.g.
is status only available to full-time faculty) and are there exceptions to
the rule?

2) What types of faculty incentivies does your institution have for writing
grants (e.g. stipends, release time, etc.)?

3) If the funder allows, can faculty receive pay above their base salary
during the contract period?  If this is allowed, what limits, if any, are
imposed?
