Responsible Conduct .... Web site Molly Daniel 20 Nov 1996 17:28 EST

I noticed that another listserv member responded with the
recommendation of the text "On Being a Scientist," and I second that
suggestion. You may also want to know about the web site presenting
this publication. The National Academy Press maintains a site
 presenting the publication at
 http://www.nap.edu/readingroom/books/obas/

We link to it and other related sites from our OSP web page discussing
the institutional policy on misconduct in research. The other sites
are under the Office of Research Integrity, which lists some
publications and model policies on their server.

Does anyone know of a recent video or speech or set of materials you
could recommend for a once-a-year presentation to research faculty
(and students on grants) concerning the subject of ethics? I'm sure
the subject is covered in probably all faculty handbooks as well as in
our scientific misconduct policies, but it seems to me that lately we
have all begun to be advised to be more pro-active on this subject.
Suggestions will be appreciated, and shared.
