Provides technical support to faculty, administrators, and staff on a wide
range of issues and projects in both pre- and post-award administration of
grants and contracts for research, scholarly activities and training, with
primary emphasis in the areas of pre-application guidance and assistance,
pre-award administration, and subcontracting. Negotiates major issues related
to dollar value, terms, and conditions of grant awards, contracts, and
sub-contracts. Authorizes grant proposals and accepts grant awards on behalf of
the Trustees of Dartmouth College. Bachelor's degree with formal training in
Contract Negotiation and at least five years of experience in sponsored
research administration; or the equivalent. Knowledge of and skill in pre- and
post-award sponsored research grant and contract administration in an academic
setting. Detailed knowledge of OMB Circulars (A-21, A-110, A-13) and the
Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR). Excellent written and oral communication
skills, including ability to speak in front of groups. Demonstrated ability to
interact productively with a wide variety of people. Skill in independently
negotiating terms and conditions of grant awards and contracts. Familiarity
with the use of computer databases and electronic communications software is
desirable.
