The University of Maryland at College Park, is seeking a competent individual to join the staff of research grants administrators within our Office of Research Administration and Advancement. The area of emphasis is state-of-the-art electronic information system management. Our volume of research grants and contracts exceeded 149 million dollars this last fiscal year. College Park is the largest campus of the University of Maryland System enrolling almost 45,000 students from every state and from 125 foreign countries. It is the major research and graduate institution within the Maryland System. If you know of someone who might be interested in these opportunities, please pass this along to him or her. --------------------------------------------------------------- OFFICE OF RESEARCH ADMINISTRATION AND ADVANCEMENT UNIVERSITY OF MARYLAND AT COLLEGE PARK POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT TITLE: GRANTS MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST for Electronic Information Systems (AS# 5321) CATEGORY: Associate Staff, full time, 12-month appointment RESPONSIBILITIES: Areas of responsibility include pre-proposal, proposal, and records management duties. This position has an emphasis on state-of-the-art information management including coordinating a digital records conversion project. QUALIFICATIONS: Baccalaureate required and at least three years experience in similar work demonstrating increasing levels of responsibility, and ability to work independently. Must have knowledge of Database use, Internet skills such as: HTML, FTP, Gopher and e-mail; grant development processes; Federal regulations, principles of research grant and contract clauses, records management applications and ability to negotiate intelligently with external and internal clientele. Should have excellent proficiency in communication skills, interpersonal skills, ability to reconcile differing viewpoints, and ability to function effectively in periodic crisis environments.
