James Madison Foundation?

Has anyone heard of the James Madison Memorial Fellowship Foundation?
Does anyone know if it is still in existence?
A predecessor received correspondence from the Foundation in 1992.
The information indicated that the Foundation provided up to $24,000
to "the most qualified graduating collegians in the country who are
prospective secondary school teachers of American history, American
government, and social studies". Funds were to be used to
support master's level graduate study of the US Constitution and Bill
of Rights.
Trustees listed on the letterhead include Edward Kennedy, Orrin
Hatch, Norman Sisisky, Lamar Alexander and others.
The letter included an address in Iowa City, Iowa but no phone
number. "Information" in Iowa City has no listing for it and the
Foundation Center (New York) has no information either. Searches of
SPIN, IRIS, and various foundation directories have not provided
results.
It sounds like an interesting group. Does anyone have any leads?
Thank you.
