I have been asked to post the following request from the Indiana University
Committee on Research Data.

Indiana University is reviewing issues related to research data such as
standards for research data recording, ownership, custodianship, and access.
 In doing so, it desires to learn what may have been accomplished at other
institutions, especially relating to policies and/or guidelines which have
been developed.  This may include anything from the definition of "data" as
it relates to the products of research, and the relationships existing
between research data and intellectual property, copyrights, etc., to
policies pertaining to access and guidelines suitable for use in a faculty
handbook.  We would be very pleased to learn of any successes in this area
and to access any materials that have been developed.  Please send
information in the most convenient manner for you as noted below.  We will
also make the products of our study available when they have been finalized.
