Sponsored Programs and Research
Full-time administrative staff position. Will provide information and
technical assistance to the BGSU community with regard to the development
and submission of proposals for externally funded grants and contracts;
compliance with Federal regulations regarding the conduct and
administration of research. In addition, assists the Director of SPAR in
providing university-wide leadership in the management and delivery of
these services and in special project activities as requested by the
Director.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist in the developement of proposals for external
funding and provide technical editing to proposals, as requested by
faculty.
- Review proposals that are submitted for external funding to
ensure that the University's obligations to the proposal are appropriate.
- Serve as the person responsible for developments in
electronic research administration, especially as it relates to federal
grant applications and awards.
- Develop and present workshops, seminars, and informational
materials regarding project development and proposal writing to the
University community.
- Prepare format for Research and Development Newsletter.
- Oversee the office's webpage and server used by the
University community and have responsibility for maintaining a current
portfolio of application forms available electronically and provide
demonstrations to the community on the use of these forms.
- Serve as a member of the University's Human Subjects Review
Board.
- Assist in the promotion of the university research efforts
through public relation activities, when appropriate.
- Assist the Director in program planning, office
administration, and special activities related to pre-proposal grant
development and post-award administration.
- Maintain and update, when necessary, SPAR manuals such as
the office handbook.

Qualifications |
Masters degree required; Strong writing and interpersonal communication
skills; two years experience in editing and writing; five years experience
in proposal development, grant writing; current knowledge of MAC computers
and software.
Salary
Salary will be commensurate with experience.
