RESEARCH ADMINISTRATOR - JOSLIN DIABETES CENTER
Position provides administrative and financial support to the
research community at Joslin Diabetes Center. Pre-award
responsibilities require supporting the review & processing of grant
applications. Post-award responsibilities involve the administration
of research projects to assure their financial and operational
compliance with legal, sponsor, and Center policies and practices.
Position also supports the development and implementation of research
business practices that establish effective and efficient
administrative operations.
PRIMARY FUNCTIONS:
Preparing materials for application submissions, assuring their
institutional review, monitoring the funding entity review, and
negotiating award terms & conditions.
Manage project activity within budgetary limitations and award
requirements. Address rebudget requests. Assure the timely
submission of financial and administrative reports.
Develop and/or negotiate terms & conditions of awards and
subagreements. Work with investigators to assure appropriate
committee and operations review (IACUC, IRB, risk management,
technology transfer, etc). Manage all researcher support needs
for personnel, purchasing, facilities, and more.
Support the general management of the research laboratories
which may include space utilization assessments, equipment
acquisitions and oversight, and related activities.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelors Degree. One year related experience in a
biomedical/academic research environment. Strong computer
skills.
