Grants Development Analyst Grants Development $2,505 - $3,012/Mo. Under general supervision of the Director of Grants Development, advise=20 and assist faculty, staff and administrators in developing, budgeting and= =20 processing proposals for external grants; follow up on proposals with=20 sponsors on negotiating contracts and grants; develop reports and=20 analyses of Grants Development Office (GDO) procedures and other research= =20 and grant related issues; make recommendations for policy and procedural=20 changes to improve operation of GDO. Essential Functions =B7 Provide technical assistance to faculty, staff and administrators in=20 proposal development, including recommending funding sources, reviewing=20 and editing proposal narratives, developing budgets, assuring compliance=20 with sponsor guidelines, final proposal processing and interface with=20 University and Foundation administrators for campus approval, submission=20 to funding agencies. =20 =B7 Follow up and coordinate with GDO and Foundation staff, and=20 representatives of external sponsoring agencies on status of proposals=20 and grants and to resolve pre-award contractual or program issues=20 involved in securing grants. =20 =B7 Provide information and guidance to individual faculty and staff, and= =20 groups as requested, on grants development including how to: identify=20 funding sources, approach sponsors, develop projects, write grant=20 proposals, develop budgets, and obtain university clearances for proposal= =20 submission. Participate with the Director in presenting proposal writing= =20 seminars. =20 =B7 Coordinate with staff in ensuring the availability of appropriate=20 information on funding agencies and grant programs as well as other grant= =20 writing resources in the GDO. =20 =B7 Assist in coordination of informational interface between pre-award=20 University Grants Development Office and post-award Foundation Sponsored=20 Programs Office to maintain current information on the status of proposal= =20 and awards. =20 =B7 Assist with preparation of GDO annual reports to campus and=20 Chancellor's Office. =20 =B7 Research, gather, write and maintain up-to-date background and=20 "boilerplate" information as needed on the university and its resources=20 for incorporation into proposals. =20 =B7 Assist with preparation and publication of a GDO electronic format=20 newsletter and with preparation and revision of GDO proposal writing=20 materials. Qualifications: BS degree and two years of experience in pre-award=20 proposal and sponsored project development, preferably in a university=20 environment. Masters preferred. Knowledge of University research=20 administration including proposal preparation, budgeting, contracting,=20 and compliance is required. Use of computer applications including word=20 processing, desktop publishing, spreadsheets, and database management. =20 Knowledge of Fastlane, Adobe Acrobat and WWW. Strong interpersonal=20 skills. Ability to communicate, both written and orally, in a=20 professional manner; to work effectively with a diverse clientele of=20 staff and faculty; to manage time and prioritize work under stressful=20 situations.
