For those of you that are wondering, the following posting is indeed for my
position.  I have accepted an offer at a local software company MapInfo, Inc.
They produce desktop mapping software.  It is an exciting opportunity, but
I will miss everyone on RESADM-L.  I will insure that the transition to a

Director, Technology Transfer and Contract Programs

HEALTH RESEARCH, INC. seeks a highly motivated,
intelligent individual with outstanding written and verbal
communications skills, the ability to analyze complex scientific,
technical, regulatory and legal issues,make recommendations, and
to effectively and efficiently communicate same.  The successful
candidate must have the ability to manage multiple priorities and
deadlines and the ability to work independently.

Our Director is responsible for the coordination of patenting,
marketing and licensing of technologies developed within the New
York State Department of Health.  Duties include:

Developing/negotiating licenses, sponsored research and clinical
trial agreements with industry; acting as a liaison between
inventors and outside legal counsel; assessing disclosures and legal
opinions on patentability of technology; developing marketing
strategies for various technologies and making recommendations to
management.

Additional responsibilities include supervision of four full time
employees' administration of a $35 million subcontract program;
interpretation of federal regulations governing sponsored research
and technology transfer and formulation of policies to insure
continued compliance, and preparation of custom reports for
management and board of directors.

Minimum Qualifications:  A bachelor's degree and at least 4
years experience in technology transfer, administration, contract
management, business or other related field.  Computer skills
(spreadsheet, database, word processing).  Advanced computer
skills preferred.  Advanced degree may be substituted for
experience.  At least 2 years of experience must have been at the
management/supervisory level.

Rate Range:  $52,360 - $73,682, dependent upon experience and
qualifications.
