GRANT AND CONTRACT ADMINISTRATOR

FUNCTION:
The Grant and Contract Administrator will be responsible for reviewing
proposals submitted to federal, state, university and private sources to
ensure compliance with all applicable requirements; working with the
faculty and staff to develop budgets and other administrative components
of grant applications; developing and managing the grants database; and
managing associated responsbiilities related to proposals and awards.

DUTIES:
Provide guidance and expertise to faculty, research administrators, and
other staff on grant and contract administrative, financial and budgeting
issues.  Develop policies and procedures regarding the process of grant
and contract applications. Review all proposals prior to submission to
federal, state, local and private funding sources to ensure compliance
with all policies anad regulations. Negotiate terms anad conditions on
grants, contracts, subcontracts and clinical agreements.  When
appropriate and required, draft research, contract, subcontract and
clinical agreements.  Maintain expertise in university and
federal/state/private agencies' regulations and policies and stay
up-to-date on new laws affecting sponsored program activities.
Keep grant and contract files updated and ready for audit.  Develop and
maintain the ORSP Management Information Systems. Participate in the
development of periodic and annual reports for all applications and
funded projects. Administer institutional research grants awarded to the
school. Conduct review of postaward requests for budget and technical
modivfications. Maintain budgetary and expenditure records for the ORSP.

REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree plus three years related experience involving research
and sponsored programs administration, ideally in an academic
environment.  Knowledge of accounting principles, practices and financial
analysis. Demonstrated competence with spreadsheet software in relation
to the mamagement of a large sponsored programs database.  Current
knowldge and expertise of federal agency regulations, policies,
procedures and lows applicable to sponsored program activity.  Excellent
oral and written communication skills.
