We have decided to publish our first-ever annual report, and I'm
hoping the RESADM-L group can give us some guidance. Maybe you can
point to some annual reports you're proud of; maybe you know of some
that are real stinkers.
Obviously, we want to reflect submission activity and approval rates,
with some historical perspective, but we also think the report should
highlight some successful campus researchers and bring some attention
to institutes and centers which (and individuals who) show great
potential in the work they are doing. We think the report should
have some (Dare I say it?) PROMOTIONAL value.
Are there any other topics that ought to be covered? Have you done
your annual reports in-house--that is, only with personnel within
YOUR office (as opposed to a university publications office)? Have
you hired free-lancers to do photography, writing, graphical design,
general lay-out?
Finally, if you can, would you please send me a copy of one or more
of your annual reports? Or if you have it up on your home page,
would you send me the web address?
If you don't think this is a topic of interest to the entire list, you can send
your replies directly to me, and I will post a summary to the list.
Thanks in advance for any advice you can give.
