Applications are still being accepted for the following position: Assistant Director of Research Services - Texas Tech University Texas Tech University is seeking a person to fill the newly created position of Assistant Director of Research Services. The position reports to the Director of Research Services. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES - The assistant director will review grant and contract documents prior to acceptance by the university; negotiate grants and contracts; prepare subrecipient agreements; review, interpret, and disseminate university, federal, state, and sponsoring agency policies; approve no-cost extensions, equipment purchases, and other routine administrative actions; advise principal investigators and their staffs concerning sponsored project administration; work closely with two post-award sponsored projects associates and the Office of Grants and Contracts Accounting to insure that projects are administered in accordance with relevant policies and regulations. SALARY - The salary range for this position is $30,792 to $36,000. QUALIFICATIONS - A bachelor's degree and two years of experience in research administration are required. A master's degree and five years of experience are strongly preferred. The position requires a knowledge of research funding sources and procedures, knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations, OMB Circulars, and other federal regulations relating to grants and contracts; an understanding of the role of research in a large multi-purpose university; effective communication and interpersonal skills; an ability to work effectively with faculty and staff members in all areas of the university and with representatives of external agencies; ability to execute multiple tasks and respond to multiple demands as part of a team; skill in problem solving; and ability to consider multiple alternatives.
