I can appreciate Thane's problem since the phrase showed up
"corporate standards". Unlike Barbara's Baylor in Houston, my
Baylor in Dallas has a different outlook. It probably does have to do
with being in a hospital environment.
We require that laboratory coats be worn in the lab. Solid toe shoes
must be worn. We do not allow shorts to be worn and must wear a
collared shirt. Jeans are fine, but the they can not be torn or overly
patched. No shirts with large decals, slogans, or phrases are
allowed unless a common theme is present and approved by
administration. (i.e. no Dallas Cowboy jerseys except during playoff
time).
Good luck! Every new batch of graduate students brings a new
orientation requirement for us. I am sure you have a similar
problem.
