Subject: Important Recognition Award information

The deadline for the submission of the "Recognition Awards for the
Integration of Research and Integration" preliminary application is
July 5, 1996 at 11:59:59 pm EDT. The Recognition Awards FastLane
application will be turned off at the stroke of midnight. The Cover Sheet,
which is printed out and signed after the preliminary proposal is submitted
via FastLane, must be postmarked no later than by July 10.

Before the PI can begin a Recognition Award preliminary proposal,
they must be added as a FastLane user. In addition, for first-time PIs or
Co-PIs, you will need to send an e-mail message to xxxxxx@nsf.gov with the
following information about each individual:

 Name
 Highest Degree and Year Conferred
 Institution
 Department
 Street Address
 City, State, Zip
 Social Security Number
 E-mail Address
 Business Phone
 Fax Number

The PI will be unable to access the FastLane Proposal Preparation
application until the day after this information is received and recorded
by NSF. If you give the Co-PI permission to submit a Recognition Award
application, the Co-PI cannot access the PI's Recognition Award application
until the PI adds them to the Cover Sheet as a Co-PI. Make sure that the
PI and Co-PI know who is supposed to submit the Recognition Award proposal
to NSF. Only one Recognition Award application can be submitted. If you
do not give the Co-PI this permission, the PI will need to assign their
proposal a PIN, and give the proposal PIN and their proposal kit number to
the Co-PI.
