Grants Analyst (pre-award office), California Polytechnic State University,
San Luis Obispo, CA 93407. Note: this posting provides the information

member of a small office (one director, two analysts, an information manager,
a secretary and two incredible students). We use "IBM-like"/Windows
environments with Word, Excel and Access; multiple email systems; the WWW to
some degree (http://www.calpoly.edu/~grants) and would like to implement
FastLane in the very near future.
 The office reports to the University Dean of Research and Graduate Programs.
The office coordinates with the post-award office, Sponsored Programs
Administration, that is part of the Cal Poly Foundation. This position is a
Foundation position and inquiries should be directed to Foundation Human
Resources, (805)756-1121. Completed applications must be received by 5 P.M. on
Friday, July 5, 1996. QUALIFICATIONS: BS degree and two years of experience in
proposal and project development preferably in a University environment.
Masters preferred. Knowledge of University research administration including
proposal preparation, budgeting, contracting and compliance. Use of computer
applications including word processing, desktop publishing, spreadsheets, and
database management. Strong interpersonal skills. Ability to communicate, both
written and orally, in a professional manner; to work effectively with a
diverse clientele of staff and faculty; to manage time and work under
stressful situations.
