Through Central, I offer some of the services to community organizations includ
ing K-12 and other non-profits. But, all of the service is provided with the di
sclaimer that university business has priority--and may result in no available
help at a crucial point in the future. Services I provide are:

1.  Identification of potential sponsors (searches using SPIN and Prospector's
Choice). Printed materials are available, but the search must be performed by t
he project director.
2.  Assistance in understanding the RFP or program announcement, especially in
deciding what information needs to be included and how to structure the proposa
l.
3.  Reviewing proposals and making suggestions for improvement.
4.  Assistance in preparing budgets and budget narratives.

By limiting the services of the office to these, I find I can help most organiz
ations that ask and it's good PR for the University. But also, we are a public
university and I believe we should offer such service when possible.
