HRI is seeking a highly motivated, intelligent individual with outstanding
written and verbal communications skills, the ability to analyze complex
scientific, technical, regulatory and legal issues, make recommendations,
and to effectively and efficiently communicate same. Candidate must have
the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines and the ability to
work independently.
After a period of training, specific duties will include:
Review of inventions developed by investigators, assessment of invention
value, determining potential commercial markets for such inventions and making
recommendations regarding same.
Serve as liaison with patent attorneys and inventors to assess/coordinate legal
aspects of inventions.
Review, development and negotiation of agreements with private industry for
funding of research, and licensing/evaluation of inventions.
Preparation, review and negotiation of contracts issued by HRI under federal
and privately sponsored grant programs for compliance with government
procurement regulations and HRI policies.
The volume of technology transfer activity at our office does not warrant
a full time position at this point. Half of the individual's time will be
spent on research administration duties.
I am willing to train an individual in technology transfer and believe this
may be an interesting opportunity for someone with research administration
experience who is looking to get involved in technology transfer.
Minimum Qualifications: A bachelor's degree and 3 years experience in
administration, contract management, business, sales or other field
demonstrated to require the skills noted above. Advanced degree may
substitute for experience.
Preferred Qualifications: computer skills (spreadsheet, database, word
processing), management/supervisory experience; experience in research or
technology administration
Salary range $33,600 - $38,000, depending on experience.
