We haven't heard anything about our ILI proposals.   I do know two things:
panels were held basically on schedule (despite the furloughs etc). and as
of today NSF still DOES NOT have an approved budget (by line item) from
Congress.  Apparently Congress has to approve the specific NSF budget
within the overall amount set for 1996; according to the NSF program
officer I was talking to this morning, NSF sent Congress their budget on
May 20 and Congress has a month to act on it.  I gather they are assured of
the total funding but no program has assurance of its piece of the funding.

I hope anyone who's had recent contact with the ILI program will reply to
the list.  I was considering call next week.
