I'd be interested in seeing a quick discussion of the Stevens Amendment and
how other institutions are handling compliance. Apparently it is still in
effect -- it's included in NCURA's recently revised Regulation & Compliance
monograph.
How seriously should we (at a predominantly undergraduate institution with
less than $1 million in federal funding each year) take this compliance
requirement? It's clear that if we issue a press release about a federal
grant we probably should include the required Stevens details.
But what about articles in our College magazine (sent primarily to alums)?
A profile of a faculty member will often include information about the
research program and sources of funding -- but not the % and $ information
required by Stevens. And our announcements of faculty grants in on-campus
publications don't even state the level of funding.
