I just received a mailing from Sylvan Lake Associates, Inc. of South Padre
Island, TX.  They provide instructional courseware for research
administrators.  There are four basic courses (Pre-Award, Post-Award,
Regulations, Commercialization) and 10 specialty topics (proposal prep;
budget prep; fiscal management; managing personnel, equipment & supplies;
IDC determination; animals & humans; intellectual property; ethical issues;
subcontracting, and academic budgets).

Has anyone out there purchased and used any of these products or know
anything about them?  If so, are they good staff training tools?  Would they
be helpful for training faculty in grants administration?  Would they
provide the hands-on activities for grants administration workshops in a
computer lab environment?  Are they accurate and inclusive enough to be
helpful?

Please rush responses to the list as the end of the fiscal year is coming
