Our internal research committee is struggling with an identity crisis and
responsibility change.  In the past (and present) they seem to serve more as
 an administrative function to the Office of Research.  The main charge is peer
review of grants funded by internal monies.  There are other lesser
 responsibilities but they need more.  Would other institutions share their
 research
committee responsibilities, goals or objectives with me in order to pull
together a fresh focus to ours?
