POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT
TITLE: GRANTS MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST (Two Positions)
CATEGORY: Associate Staff, full time, 12-month appointment
RESPONSIBILITIES: Assume responsibility for the full-range of research
administration duties for a number of sponsor agencies. Areas of
responsibility include pre-proposal, proposal and budget preparation,
post-award grant and contract administration, subcontracting, and related
problem-solving duties.
QUALIFICATIONS: Baccalaureate required and at least three years
experience in similar work demonstrating increasing levels of
responsibility, and ability to work independently.
Should have knowledge of Federal regulations and statutes, invention and
copyright issues, operating principles of research grant and contract
clauses suitable for a university, and ability to negotiate intelligently
with external and internal clientele.
Must have excellent communication skills, proficiency in interpersonal
techniques, ability to reconcile differing viewpoints, and must be able
to function effectively in periodic crisis environments.
SALARY: Commensurate with experience and qualifications.
