The procedure would vary greatly with the nature of the work being done
and perhaps also with the amount of money involved. Research agreements
are meant to cover risk factors and prevent misunderstandings later,
so look at those potentials in this situation. Is the work off campus
or dangerous? Might inventions occur? What is the deliverable?
A sponsor who would not want a full all-clause agreement might still
agree that some matters need to be covered in this case and agree to
do so in a letter or a simple agreement.
