We all know about the government shutdown and that we don't yet have a FY96
budget. My question is: How much impact is this having on your
university's proposal submissions and funding levels? Some of my colleagues
at other universities are telling me that submissions and awards are down
from last year - in some cases "considerably" decreased.
I am at a predominately undergraduate institution and would especially
appreciate hearing from like institutions. If your submissions and awards
have decreased this year, do you attribute it to the government shutdown or
to some other factors?
I will be happy to post the results, anonymously, of course. Thanks for any
input and insight you can provide.
