I think I am closing in on the bitnet/internet switch over problems.

Many of you have recently advised me that although you get mail from
RESADM-L, when you try to post mail you are rejected with a
note that says something like, "you are not authorized to post
to RESADM-L from your xxxxxx@node.edu account."  It appears that
if you previously had to make special arrangments to get to our
bitnet address, now that we are on internet, your internet address
(which can now be used by your system since you are trying to get
to a place on internet, not bitnet) is not recognized by RESADM-L which
is still expecting to see your old "special bitnet secret decoder address"
:-)Clear as mud, I know, but bear with me.

These arrangements, may have been totally transparent to you - your
system may have automatically rerouted your mail with the special address.

So, please take a minute to review the following list of subscribers piped
through CUNY to see if you are there.  If the address does not look like
your standard use internet address, contact me and provide me
with the weird looking address as well as the address you should be subscribed
from.

If you post frequently and have not been getting the error mentioned above,
there is no need for you to review the list.  If you are receiving
DUPLICATE messages, please check the list, you may be subscribed under the
old bitnet gateway as well as under your internet address ---thereby
resulting in duplicate messages.
