Assistant Director, Office of Sponsored Programs.
Idaho State University invites applications for the position of
Assistant Director of the Office of Sponsored Programs. ISU is a
broad-based regional public university, providing a wide range of
educational services to a culturally diverse population of students.
The university offers graduate programs in a number of fields and is
a national center for the Doctor of Arts degree. ISU engages in
sustained and significant research as an essential component of its
academic and public service programs.
The Assistant Director will work with the Director of Sponsored
Programs to facilitate faculty proposal development in research,
training and instruction, and public service projects. The Assistant
Director will be expected to review and accept proposals for
compliance with University policies and sponsoring agency
requirements, identify and distribute prospective program
opportunities to the research community via personal contacts and a
regular written publication, and participate in the development of
reports on pending and funded projects. The Assistant Director will
report to the Director of the Office of Sponsored Programs.
The qualified applicant must have a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in
Education, Business or a related field; at least three years
grant/contract management, development or closely related experience;
excellent interpersonal skills (writing, speaking and
listening); experience in work settings requiring organizing multiple
assignments and managing priorities; and demonstrated success working
with individuals and groups. Knowledge of the science of
grantsmanship, federal regulations, policies and procedures as they
pertain to sponsored program activity is desired. Computer
experience, particularly with database systems and information
retrieval systems, would be helpful. Starting salary $33,500.
