I work for a hospital with a university affiliation. Most of the
research conducted is in the form of clinical trials. We have many
departments including surgery, medicine, ob/gyn, and pediatrics who
conduct these clinical trials.
Management is interested in hiring a grant writer with the intention of
increasing research. I have my doubts that one person can be so
versatile and have the ability to write for multiple departments. Having
virtually no experience in this field I am inquiring further to all of
you. Does anyone have similiar situations utilizing a grant writer? Has
it increased your research base? Does consulting on an as needed basis
make better sense?
Any advice or thoughts would be helpful.
