At a recent workshop at NCURA, we did a small part on "what do you do if
there's no vice president for research?"  It was intended to discuss how
to stimulate the research climate on a small to mid-size campus.  I'd be
happy to share the overheads if anyone would like to see them.

Don't know all the answers, but at least the workshop discussion raised some
interesting questions.
